BitStarz Review 2026: what the wrong chain costs you

Since 2014, BitStarz has published a real regulator's licence number and asks 10 USDT to open the door. It also holds Tether on exactly one blockchain, and bringing your dollars on any other means its own exchange quotes a fee that costs more than half of a minimum deposit. The casino is solid. The route in is where the money goes.

First deposit: a 100% match that locks your deposit

The match runs at 100% with the cap shown in whichever currency you registered in, and 180 free spins follow at 20 a day across eight days. Everything wagers at 40x. Accepting any part of it locks your deposit until the wagering clears, and cancelling forfeits the bonus winnings.

Read from BitStarz's own cashier and exchange widget in August 2026. Each bar is what you have to send for 10 to land in your balance. BitStarz holds Tether on Tron and USD Coin on Ethereum, so those two arrive at face value; press the toggle and watch which row is the cheap one change. Every other chain is tagged "via Exchange" in the cashier and costs the 5.54 fixed fee on top. Ten further chains behave exactly like the converted rows here.

BitStarz holds Tether on one chain only

The cashier is also direct about it when you open a Tether wallet. The rail they name on screen is USDT (TRC20), which shows the stablecoin's chain: Tron. USD Coin gets the same treatment on its own single rail.

That part is good news, because it corrects an assumption worth stating plainly: BitStarz does hold stablecoins. Both Tether and USD Coin show up in the same list as the national currencies, so a dollar you send can stay a dollar. On this site that matters more than almost anything else.

The problem comes with the rest of the currencies within this panel. In addition to Tether on Tron, there are eleven other Tether entries covering BSC, Solana, Polygon, Avalanche, Arbitrum, Optimism, TON, CELO, opBNB, Aptos and Assethub. On the other side of the panel, three further USD Coin entries cover Polygon, Solana and Algorand. All these entries come with the same small grey tag that says via Exchange.

That tag is the whole review. BitStarz will accept the cryptocurrency, then convert it into one that they do hold. It is not free to convert between cryptocurrencies, but no one has yet published the cost of such a transaction.

What the BitStarz exchange actually charges

Their own exchange widget was put through eight quotes in August of 2026, at amounts ranging from 10 to 7,000. The pair held constant was Tether on BSC into Tether on Tron. The value of Tether is one dollar regardless of the blockchain platform, so only the chain changes.

Each of these eight rows of quotes fit the same formula. The base value was 5.54 with a percentage of 1.40% of the amount of the cryptocurrency being quoted. This precisely reproduces the table of quotes, to the cent. This is the signature of an intentional fee schedule.

The fixed component is the part that hurts. It does not care how much you are swapping, so it lands hardest on the smallest transfers. BitStarz, for instance, requires a minimum deposit of 10. If you send the minimum on the wrong chain, you will lose more than half your funds before you ever place your bet.

The other component is the variable fee, and this one is based on the amount of the transaction. The source chain that the funds originate from has no effect on this fee. Regardless of whether the USD Coin transactions originated from Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Algorand, BSC, Arbitrum or Base chains, the fee was between 9.2% and 9.6% for a target of 70. The same is true for Tether on Polygon and Solana. The fee is directly related to the amount of funds transferred, and the chain does not make any difference to it.

None of this is hidden, exactly. The via Exchange tag is visible in the currency list and in the widget. But the tag does not include the price, and the price is only visible if you happen to run the exchange widget at several different sizes. So here is the short version: unless your Tether is already on Tron, move it there before you deposit, or accept a fee that starts at 5.54 and never goes away.

Read the other way, though, this is a strong argument for BitStarz among TRC-20 casinos. If you are depositing on Tron, you pay the stated 10 minimum with a zero fee and never touch the exchange at all. For everyone else, though, the exchange is a trap.

The BitStarz bonus locks the deposit it sits on

Clause 3.22 of the bonus terms states it without any softening. By accepting the deposit bonus, you lock your deposit, and you have two ways out of it: either clearing the wagering or cancelling it, which forfeits the bonus and all winnings made with it.

The wagering requirement for all bonuses is 40x unless stated otherwise. It applies to the free and registration bonuses as well. During the wagering period, your maximum bet is limited to 5, no bonus buys or double-up bets are allowed and your balance must not go under 0.10 or you will forfeit the bonus, a clause that can end the offer long before the wagering sum ever plays out. Table, live, instant win, lottery and bingo games contribute 5% towards the bonus requirement and progressive jackpot games contribute nothing towards the bonus condition.

Another look at the lobby shows the lock working on three of the exclusive games. Each is greyed out behind a padlock captioned "Unavailable with active bonus". A live bonus adds a turnover target and takes games off the shelf at the same time.

The welcome headline needs the same care. It is advertised as a package worth up to 5 BTC and 180 free spins. The 180 spins are awarded 20 spins a day for eight days. If a player cancels the bonus at any point, the remaining days will be cancelled with it. The qualifying deposit also has to be wagered once within 24 hours before the spins qualify at all.

What BitStarz says about getting money out

Three different speeds are published across its own pages. All three are claims, and none of them is the thing most likely to delay you.

The three published numbers

The table of payment times says that crypto withdrawals are "Instantly". However, clause 8.7.1 says that BitStarz will try to pay players within 1 hour, though some may take longer. Clause 8.7.8 mentions "the 10 minute average" in passing. A casino that publishes one number is easy to hold to it; three is a range dressed as a promise.

The conditions that actually bite

Clause 8.7.5 requires that players play through their deposit at least once before they can take any winnings out. Clause 8.7.13 states that the winnings must be returned via the same method as the player deposited with. Finally, clause 8.7.3 gives them the right to return large wins to players in monthly instalments.

Warning

Keep your phone number current and answer it. BitStarz reserves the right to call you as part of their KYC procedure, and clause 8.7.11 makes clear that if they cannot reach you via email or phone within two weeks of requesting a withdrawal, your account is locked for failing to complete your KYC. The verification process will ask for a passport, a national ID, utility bills and a copy of the card used to deposit into the casino, and clause 8.7.4 states that this applies to cryptocurrency players exactly as it does to fiat players. Anyone expecting a cryptocurrency casino to skip the KYC process should read this clause before depositing.

The clause almost nobody reads

The dormant account policy is detailed in Section 13. If you have not logged into your account in six consecutive months, your account will become inactive. At this stage, BitStarz can charge you a monthly administrative fee of at least 5 EUR as long as your account has a positive balance.

Read that last part again. Any small balance that gets forgotten about will be drained by these fees until there is nothing left of your initial deposit. While not unique to BitStarz, this is uncommon in the market for online casinos, and none of the other eight casinos reviewed here publishes anything like it. Should you choose to maintain a balance in your account between sessions, this clause will dictate how much, if any, will remain in your account the following year.

Who runs BitStarz, and under what licence

This is the strongest paperwork on our roster. Not only does it name the operating company, it has a Curacao registration number, a street address, and a Curacao Gaming Authority licence under the current regime. Cloudbet, BetFury and 7Bit publish comparable licences; Winz.io, Bets.io and Flush publish licences from Anjouan, a tier below Curacao's gaming authority; Mega Dice still names no company at all.

The twelve years of existence for BitStarz also works in its favour, as the copyright line for their site runs from 2014, making it significantly older than every other site in this roster. Where most brands in this market are three years old, BitStarz has been in operation for twelve, long enough for any pattern of unpaid players to have surfaced by now.

Where it costs you is access. Roughly sixty countries are covered in clause 3.6, many of them in Europe, including the United Kingdom, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, Romania, Hungary, Czechia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Cyprus and others, as well as the United States, Brazil, Russia and Ukraine. It is the honest thing to do to publish such a list, even if it is longer than most. Read it at registration, while it still costs you nothing.

Games and tournaments at BitStarz

The lobby includes slots, table games, live casino games, game shows and a selection of in-house Originals. The studio list runs to the usual names and a long tail of smaller ones. Bitcoin Lightning is supported during the deposit process, which is rare enough to be worth naming even on a stablecoin site.

The genuinely distinctive part of the BitStarz casino is the exclusive shelf. The casino commissions its own branded titles with its name in the artwork: BitStarz Billion, BitStarz Element, BitStarz Treasures, Bit Crystals, King of BitStarz, Candy Starz. Very few casinos at this size fund custom games, and it is a better use of a marketing budget than another deposit match.

BitStarz also features a variety of tournaments that run continuously. Slot Wars and Table Wars offer prize pools that total thousands of dollars every week. Jackpotz Mania and Piggyz Mania attach prizes to deposits. Additionally, there is a tournament on Telegram with its own leaderboard. All leaderboards were live and populated at the time of writing.

From our own session on a Canadian connection, one of the Pragmatic titles returned a message that the game studio restricts it in this country. Studio-level geo blocks sit on top of the casino's own restricted list, so the library made available to players depends on where they connect from.

BitStarz casino review verdict

BitStarz is the most established of the casinos that we have reviewed, and it shows in the paperwork. The company has been trading for twelve years from its own copyright line. It is a named Curacao company with a registration number, holding a current Curacao Gaming Authority licence printed in full, and it publishes its restricted-country list up front where you can read it before you register. On the trust axis it sits at the top of this roster.

For a Tron-native depositor, however, it's cheap and simple. Ten USDT opens the door at a stated zero fee, the balance is held as Tether, and USD Coin gets the same treatment on its own rail. That is exactly what this site looks for.

The problem is that everyone else shows up on a different chain. Eleven Tether variants and three USD Coin variants are accepted, and every one of them routes through an exchange charging 5.54 plus 1.40%. At the casino's own 10 minimum, that is 56.8% of the transfer. The fee is disclosed only as a two-word tag, and you have to run the quote yourself at several sizes to see its shape. A casino this careful about its licence should be this careful about its prices.

The terms of the bonus are rather strict, and at least they are stated very plainly, though the lock on the deposit in clause 3.22 deserves to be more prominent than it is, and the dormancy fee is the harshest clause on this roster. Scored on how well a casino handles a digital dollar, BitStarz earns 7.6 out of 10. Bring your Tether on Tron, take the bonus only if you intend to clear 40x, and withdraw at the end of a session.

BitStarz has the narrowest rail count here and one of the lowest floors, which is the whole tension of this review: cheap if you are on Tron, expensive if you are not. The full grid is on our USDT minimum deposit comparison, the Tron picture is on TRC-20 casinos, and the USDC side has its own page at USDC casinos.

BitStarz casino review FAQ

Which networks does BitStarz support for USDT? Toggle

One that it holds directly: Tron, printed in the cashier as USDT (TRC20). Eleven further Tether variants appear in the currency list on other chains, but every one of them is tagged via Exchange, meaning it is converted before it reaches your balance.

What is the minimum deposit at BitStarz? Toggle

10 USDT or 10 USDC at a stated 0% fee, according to the casino's published payments table. This is a low floor for this market, but it only holds if your Tether is already on Tron, because the conversion fee for any other chain is charged on top. See our USDT minimum deposit comparison for the full field.

How much does BitStarz charge to convert between chains? Toggle

The exchange widget on the site returned eight quotes in August 2026 that fit one formula: a 5.54 fixed value plus 1.4% of the amount being converted. At 10 USDT, that is 56.8%. At 7,000 USDT it is only 1.5%. The fixed component is what makes small transfers expensive.

Does BitStarz hold a stablecoin balance? Toggle

Yes. Both Tether and USD Coin are shown as wallet currencies alongside the national currencies, so your deposited dollar can stay a dollar. The limit is the chain, not the coin: Tether is held on Tron.

How fast are BitStarz withdrawals? Toggle

BitStarz publishes three different answers. Instantly is the time stated in the website's payments table. Within 1 hour is the time stated in the terms. A later clause refers to the 10 minute average. All three are claims. Expect the KYC check to matter more to your timeline than any of them.

Do BitStarz bonuses lock your deposit? Toggle

Yes, and the operator states it plainly in clause 3.22 of its bonus terms. Accepting a deposit bonus locks the deposit, and the only ways out are completing the 40x wagering or cancelling the bonus, which forfeits it and everything won with it. Letting the bonus expire has the same effect as cancelling.

Does BitStarz charge a fee on an inactive account? Toggle

Yes. After six consecutive months without logging into the account, the account will go into dormancy. Moreover, should the account remain in dormancy, the company will begin to charge the account a fee of at least 5 EUR each month for as long as the account balance remains positive. The charges will cease should the account be reactivated or should its balance reach zero.

Who operates BitStarz and under what licence? Toggle

Gareton B.V. is the company behind BitStarz, registered in Curacao under number 160656 and licensed by the Curacao Gaming Authority under OGL/2024/165/0185. Its own copyright line runs from 2014, one year behind Cloudbet and level with 7Bit.

I spent two years on the support side of a crypto payment processor, telling people their transfer had landed on a chain the receiver did not run. Every one of those losses traced back to a figure the business already knew and had never published. Casinos are the worst for it, so I open accounts and read the cashiers myself, one coin and one network at a time.
